Last night was the first concert: A lovely organ and trumpet recital at St. Dunstan’s. Here's a link to my review, but
so much is happening I’ll probably forget.
Tonight is the Art Gallery Opening reception for the Art ofMusic Raffle fundraiser. I’m excited to see what else is available. The cover
of the Festival program book is a fun drawing/caricature of all things Bach
Festival. There’s a seashell, a boat, several instruments and of course music
symbols. I can’t wait to see the original drawing!
For those local, raffle tickets will be available starting
Opening Night, this Saturday and continuing until Best of the Fest on July 27.
Volunteers can help you through the filling out of the tickets, but won’t tell
you which box to put them in. I will…..my box!!
Here’s a picture of the piece before going into the display
case:
Oh wow, that’s glorious. Congratulations. Do you put a note with it explaining the connections to the music?
ReplyDeleteYes. They encourage the artists to provide a page about themselves. I write up a paragraph with the explanation. And, wait for it..... the volunteers all read it this year and commented on it to me. Now the other artists are upping their game! Call me rabble rouser.
DeleteVery intricate result. I'm wondering if you have tatted each of the 4 sections separately and then braided (before closing rounds) or you've tatted with many shuttles in hand. Sorry if your already wrote that. Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really shared my pattern as I'm not convinced it's fully developed. How I created this piece is to tat the darker orange motifs, then the grey chains and lighter orange rings, and finally the central chains in two passes. After the flurry of the Festival, and finishing preparing for Tat Days, I'll return to finish the pattern.
DeleteWhat a unique piece!!! It's so pretty!! :)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful design
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite colors. Excellent design.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments! I look forward to meeting some of you in Sept. in Georgia!
ReplyDeleteI realise that music created this piece in threads, but I can see that this is creating it's own music !!! Wow. Love it - the shapes, balance, colours, ... Hope it does well at the festival ;-)
