Since I had empty shuttles....

Renulek is releasing her Spring Doily 2025 (Wiosna 2025). I decided I needed something tatted under a lamp in our living room. The crochet lace I picked up in a resale shop has a bit of damage that I repaired. I just am not crazy about the pattern. So, I’ll tat something to go under the lamp. Here’s what I have so far.

I've really enjoyed tatting these doilies. I usually have a hard time actually finishing them. Sometimes it takes me years! Renulek's designs usually have several spots that look so good as you tat along that I like to enjoy them as is before adding the next round.

  2. NOW look what you did! I was NOT going to tat this!!! Not at all - I still haven't finished LAST year's doily, and I was NOT going to start this one, no ma'am, NOT going to do it. ....sigh.... I saw yours, and I thought "oh, just this little center 'medallion' won't hurt...." I can stop there. Well, I'm about 1/3 done with round 3 so far, and thinking 'just one more round, and then I'll call it a nice little doily....I'll stop there....' Yeah, right. See what you did???!!!

By the way, yours is really pretty. Your thread is nice and gives it some depth....some texture that you just can't get in a solid color OR in most variegated colors.

    1. I'd love to see a picture of your center. I hope to inspire my Study Group to join in.

  3. It's plain red. Next round is yellow - not the yellow I would have liked, but the yellow in my stash. Next round is light blue. I would have preferred a nice, 'royal' blue, but the light blue is in the same size thread bin as the rest of those threads (size 30) and my color selection isn't quite as varied as the other thread sizes. Fourth round will (probably) be the same light blue as the 3rd round, but I'll decide at the last minute. May not BE a 4th round - it may serve as a nice, small 'standalone' piece with just 3 rounds. Will try to scan it and send you a copy of the scan once the current round is completed.
