I'm still playing with color

I’m still working on the edging for this bookmark:

I couldn’t leave well enough alone and just use ecru to match the ground fabric. I just HAD to add some color. Of course, I didn’t like my first trial using all red. I didn’t like just red and tan. I imagined red AND tan.

    But the corners…..

Let's see.......What's next???

I normally have a small stash of general topic posts for the blog. Keeps me on schedule of twice a week even when I have very little pictures of tatting to share. But…

I’ve run out right now.

So, to catch up:

The test results were good….I’ll live another year….or two or three or…..

The work on the second floor of the house refurbish continues. We’ve almost completed the guest room. It’s spoken for until the end of next month.

Our kitty has adjusted to be an only kitty.

I’ve stepped back from weekly service playing, The schedule has filled up with visits to other churches.

Teaching still continues with workshop commitments starting to be confirmed.

I’m completing a design based on BWV572. Nothing camera worthy yet, but I’m closing in.

I’m excited to be working on an idea for a gadget to assist in keeping that loop open for SCMR. A prototype has been printed and is quite successful with larger threads, but awkward with thinner threads. More on that later.

I’ll be getting back on track next week.

900 posts and counting

This is a poor picture, so I’ll have to provide commentary. One of my favorite places in Carmel Valley has this olive tree in front. The wild turkeys love to fly up into the tree and eat the not-quite-ripe olives. You just have to let them. Turkeys are not to be trifled with. The tom stares down all cars while the flock is walking (slowly) across the right of way. If you’ve ever been chased by a goose, you get the picture!

This is not tatting, but it is my Nine Hundredth post of this blog. I can’t believe I’m still at it!

Beep beep....

Jane's TIAS 2022 Day 9

Jane’s TIAS has been fun! After Day 9, I’m thinking it’s a Roadrunner.

Driving along the road in Arizona, matching the speed of the bird running along, is one of my favorite memories of our 4 years in the Desert.
