Now that I’ve decided what my changes will be, and got the beads in the correct (I hope) order for the new tune, I’m anxious to see how it works out. It took me an extra day to make enough progress for the picture. Below is a detail. You can see better that I decided to use both blue and green beads in this round. The black beads show up better in real life. But, needs must!
Tricky to work with all those beads, but it’s looking good!
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly going to be sparkly! I'm always jittery about adding beads on the core thread since it messes with the count. Did you factor that in or do you have a tip to share?
ReplyDeleteYou're thinking correctly. Adding beads on the core does mess with the stitch count. I start out assuming 1 bead will take the same space as 1 DS. With the mettalics, that's pretty close. With cotton or silk, it can vary. That's when I tat a sample. That's my tip. Please feel free to share and use!
DeleteThanks, Mel. Now that you mention it, we can easily measure how many stitches in that particular thread size span a bead and adjust accordingly.
