This is tatted in a popular colorway. I seldom reach for it as the
patterns I like to use for snowflakes don’t always work for variegated thread.
This pattern works nicely. I like the way the colors pool.
I am a musician (organ) and a tatter (shuttle mostly) living in California. I have dreamed of combining both of these passions.
Yes, it’s quite tricky thread to use, perhaps because the contrasts are so stark. Looks good here!

It does look nice! I used to try and collect as many variegated and multi-colored threads as I could, because I loved the color combinations. Now I find that I prefer solids or totals. There are so many patterns where the color pooling just doesn't look right.
